Tune-up is a mobile service, with fully equipped vans
calling to your home or place of work. The primary function of the Tune-up Technician is the diagnosis, and correction of faults and incorrect adjustments, to maintain peak engine efficiency.Problems such as bad starting, rough running, stalling, misfiring, pinking, and poor fuel consumption all suggest an engine is in need of a Tune-up.A routine Tune-up procedure involves, on average,
around 60 individual checks and adjustments, including:

  • All (under-bonnet) fluid levels, antifreeze strength, and auxiliary drive belts.

  • The basic mechanical condition of the engine, established by a compression check (if necessary), inlet manifold vacuum, and cylinder power balance tests.

  • The starting and charging systems, including starter motor and alternator operation.

  • The ignition system, including spark strength and ignition timing, spark plugs, and H.T. leads etc.

  • The engine breather system.

  • The fuel system, including an exhaust emission test (except diesel engines).
